f0rd42 Asks: Ubuntu best Practice storage setup
Mainboard:
I used this server for Freenas but now want to install Ubuntu and use a central Linux Server also hosting Docker Containers.
Based on best practice (my server / linux time is long gone) what would be the best practice?
1: Install on SSD the boot system, anything else on HD RAID? If so, which mount points should go on SSD, which on other disks (raid) HD RAID: Better Software (which FS) or besser in BIOS (can do RAID5)
2: ignore the SSD, build BIOS RAID and install on that one?
3: System on SSD and then a new mount point for Docker and other stuff on the HD RAID?
4: mix of the two?
Mainboard:
SuperMicro X10SML-F
1 SSD 30GB
4 WD 3TB Disks
